FAQ

01How do I calculate my cumulative GPA?

Multiply each course’s grade points (A=4.0, B=3.0, etc.) by its credit hours across every semester completed, sum those products, then divide by the total credit hours. If you already know each semester’s GPA and credits, multiply them, sum, and divide by total credits.

02How to calculate GPA with cumulative?

Total the quality points for all terms. Total the credit hours for all terms. Divide the total quality points for all terms by the total credit hours for all terms. The result is your cumulative GPA.

03Is a 2.7 cumulative GPA bad?

A 2.7 GPA means you’ve earned an average grade of a B- across all your classes. Since a 2.7 GPA is lower than the national average of 3.0 for high school students, it will limit your options for college. About 3.48% of US schools have an average GPA below 2.7.

04Is a 1.3 GPA horrible?

A 1.3 grade point average is considered very low. On most grading scales this equates to a D+ letter grade and reflects a weak cumulative academic performance. Most colleges require at least a 2.0 GPA to remain in good academic standing or to graduate.

05Is a 3.7 GPA a B+?

No — a 3.7 GPA corresponds to an A-, not a B+. On the standard 4.0 scale, A- is 3.7, B+ is 3.3, B is 3.0. A 3.7 cumulative GPA is competitive for most graduate programs.
